New York, September 14, 2023 – The WNBA announced today that Jonathan Kolb, general manager of the New York Liberty, has been named the 2023 WNBA Basketball Executive of the Year. Kolb was honored for the Liberty’s successful 2023 season, in which the team posted a 26-8 record and made the playoffs.
Kolb played a key role in building a strong and competitive team for the Liberty. He led an aggressive signing campaign in the 2022 offseason, which brought in players such as Brenda Fraser, Elizabeth Wilson, and Alex Fraser-Dixon. These signings transformed the Liberty into a formidable lineup with the most scoring and rebounding in the league.
Kolb has also played a key role in the development of the Liberty’s young players. He has helped to develop players such as Adia Collins and Riana Love, who are now key contributors to the team.
